How do I get there?

Directions are provided after booking. The cabin is accessible by standard vehicles with on-site parking available.

Do I need a 4WD vehicle?

No, Hill Haven is accessible by standard vehicles in most conditions. During winter if we have snow, a 4WD or AWD vehicle is recommended. The driveway is a steep gravel incline, so we suggest keeping a steady speed when driving up or down for safety and ease.

How many guests can stay?

Up to 4 guests: one queen bed in the main bedroom and a kids’ loft with 2 twin XL beds.

What amenities are included?

Fully equipped kitchen, plush reclining sofa, 55” smart TV, hot tub, fire pit, front porch swing, Wi-Fi, and heating/AC. See the Hill Haven page for more details.

Is Hill Haven pet-friendly?

No pets are allowed, keeping the cabin clean and allergy-friendly.

What should I bring?

We provide linens, towels, and basics. Bring toiletries, food, and any outdoor gear for hiking or climbing.

Firewood availability

For the fire pit, dry firewood is available at the nearby Ace Hardware and stored safely inside. We ask that guests do not bring firewood from outside areas, as transporting wood can introduce invasive pests and diseases that harm local forests. Using local firewood helps protect the Red River Gorge ecosystem and ensures a safe, enjoyable fire for everyone.

Can I host events?

Hill Haven is ideal for couples, small families, or quiet escapes. Large parties and events are not permitted.

Check-in and check-out

Check-in is after 4 PM and check-out by 11 AM. Details are sent before arrival, and flexible arrangements may be possible.

Hill Haven was thoughtfully built with sustainability in mind. The cabin uses Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) for superior energy efficiency, helping to maintain comfortable temperatures year-round while reducing energy use. All appliances are energy-efficient, and the cabin was partially designed in consultation with a green builder to maximize eco-conscious practices. In addition to the sustainable design, we proudly give back each year to several local environmental causes to support the preservation of the Red River Gorge and surrounding areas. Staying at Hill Haven means enjoying modern comforts while supporting a cabin that cares about the environment and the local community.
